This is psych 101. We know that the brain functions at a lesser efficiency when it is under stress. Work, as a system, functions better when the team believes that the work they do is important, valued, and transformative. Challenge is always appropriate but encouragement and support are the bridge to consistent high performance. Again, as a system if one person begins to raise his/her level of performance the whole team reaps the benefit. We a;lso know that leadership has a disproportionate influence on the system. So, it all starts at the top. To us leaders out there....be positive, be creative, acknowledge excellence and strategize to replicate it. Do yourselbves a favor adn drop the deficit model of business development. You will love your job more.
